Between December 11 and 12, 1981, the Atlacatl Battalion killed a thousand people -mostly children and women- in El Mozote, Morazán, El Salvador.

30 years later, the Márquez family keep the teeth they found when building their house, on the spot where the army killed their family members and neighbours. And while the State continues to deny justice, El Mozote continues to refuse to become a scar.

Rufina Amaya has been the best-known survivor of the El Mozote massacre and nearby villages. But others - some children - come from the past to share what they remember, what they lived, what they suffered ...
